Trichology’s chemical attraction

“It’s an amazing, content-rich Course, and it’s delivered by excellent professionals”

Fatima Mahmoud, qualified Trichologist

A career in trichology attracts a wide variety professionals. Fatima Muhmoud built her trichology qualification on a Masters degree in Industrial Pharmaceutical Science.

Fatima’s story is a great example of how a wide variety of professional people are now being attracted to a career in trichology. It’s not just hairdressers who have a passion for helping those suffering from hair loss and other conditions of the hair and scalp. Fatima is a qualified pharmacist, and has a Master’s degree in Industrial Pharmaceutical Science. She’s currently working as a dispensing chemist in Brighton. But her ambition is to have her own clinic and consultancy, providing trichology and natural aesthetic treatments. And she’s well on the way to getting there.

Fatima wanted to take the knowledge she’s gained from her pharmacy studies to another level, and particularly to focus on natural treatments: “So I started to look at different fields and disciplines” she says, ”and I found trichology. I was immediately taken by the idea of being a trichologist – it just seemed to be the perfect fit for all my ambitions, and my qualifications too.”

Fatima then researched where she could get the best trichology training: “I chose TrichoCare Education’s Level 4 Certificate for two main reasons. First, because I could complete the Course in one year, and second, because I could study most of the Course online, and that would give me maximum flexibility to study when and where was convenient for me.”

Because she already knew a lot about anatomy, biology and chemistry from her pharmacy studies, Fatima found she was in familiar territory for much of the Course subject matter: “But what was new to me was how closely connected the health of the hair and scalp are to the rest of the body, and how they can be impacted by problems in other areas, even by psychological issues.”

Fatima has high praise for TrichoCare’s Course: “I think it’s an amazing, content-rich Course, and it’s delivered by excellent professionals. Malinda, Jackie and Keith were all extremely supportive. I have the highest praise for them.” Fatima was also helped by the flexibility TrichoCare offers students to finance their trichology studies in instalments: “I think the cost of the Course is very fair, but it was extremely helpful to me that they were so understanding and arranged for me to spread the cost of studying over time.”

Fatima successfully completed the Certificate Course a few months ago, and she’s now planning her next steps. She intends combing her new trichology qualification with her pharmacy qualification, and her training in iPRF and carboxytherapy aesthetics. With a focus on natural products and treatments, she plans to start a wellbeing clinic, as well as offering consultancy online, and already has her social media presence up and running.

Fatima’s so enthusiastic about the TrichoCare Certificate that she’s already recommended it to her own hair stylist! And she believes that anyone with a real interest in healthy hair could benefit from studying the Course: “You learn so much about the real causes of hair loss and other problems that can affect people. It really does add to your skills, knowledge and experience, and means you can provide better, more informed advice to your clients. And that’s very satisfying.”
