Trichology in the UAE with trichology course online: Natalie’s Story
From London stylist to international trichology student in Dubai
Ten years ago, London-trained stylist and assessor Natalie Scott accepted a dream job in Dubai. Today, she’s married with three children, running a full-time salon career — and pursuing her long-held ambition to study trichology. She has been able to do so with our online trichology training.
“From behind the chair I’ve seen so many of my clients with hair and scalp issues, and I’ve never been able to advise them with confidence – which was so frustrating. Studying trichology is something I’ve wanted to do for years.”
Why Study Trichology in Dubai?
Dubai’s extreme climate and multicultural mix mean Natalie sees a wide variety of hair and scalp conditions every day. Enrolling on the TrichoCare Education Level 4 Certificate in Trichology gave her the chance to deepen her knowledge and provide the expert guidance her clients need.
Finding the Right Trichology Course
Natalie discovered TrichoCare while researching online for trichology training:
“I thought I’d need a medical background to study trichology – but when Susan explained that wasn’t the case, I signed up straight away!”
As an international student, the flexibility of an trichology course online was key.
Learning with Expert Support
Balancing studies with family and work hasn’t always been easy, but the support from TrichoCare’s tutors and online trichology training has made a huge difference:
“The online sessions are invaluable, and Keith [Course Director] is always there when I’ve got a question. He’s amazingly easy to talk to and breaks everything down so it’s much easier to understand.”
Looking Ahead: A Career in Trichology
Natalie’s goal is to establish her own trichology consultancy in Dubai, helping clients with hair loss and scalp health concerns. She also believes every hair professional should access trichology training:
“I think everyone should do it. It should be part of the NVQ curriculum. You broaden your knowledge, gain confidence, and most importantly – you can give expert advice to your clients.”

Natalie spoke to Susan Ringsell at TrichoCare Education, learned more about the Course and signed up straight away: “I’d always assumed that I’d need some kind of medical background or training in order to study trichology, and when Susan told me that wasn’t the case, I didn’t hesitate!”
Now, a few months into the Course, she certainly has no regrets: “I’m actually enjoying it. It’s really interesting. Some of the early biology content was challenging – I could just about remember studying some of it in school! But once you realise how important the basics are and how everything is connected, you can really commit to learning in more depth.”
Natalie says she’s getting great support from TrichoCare’s tutors, especially Course Director Keith Barker-Jones: “Because I’m studying from outside the UK, the online sessions are particularly helpful, and it’s also important to me that I can contact someone when I’ve got a question or want advice. And I’ve always found that Keith is there to help. He’s amazingly easy to talk to, keeps me on track and carefully breaks down any problem I have and makes it easier to understand.”
Natalie’s ambition is to have her own trichology consultancy and practice. And she’s in no doubt that studying a trichology course online should be an essential part of hairdresser training:
“I think everyone should do it. It should be part of the NVQ curriculum. You broaden your knowledge and understanding of the hair and scalp, you learn new skills and, above all, you can be confident in giving expert advice to clients once you’re qualified.”
