How TrichoCare’s Level 4 Trichology Course Helped Salon Owner Emma Goodger Transform Her Hair & Scalp Services
“I love making people feel great.” This could be the motto of every dedicated hair and beauty professional. If you’re a salon owner considering advancing your expertise, the Level 4 Trichology course for salon owners is a fantastic choice. In fact, they’re the words of Emma Goodger, who’s recently completed TrichoCare Education’s regulated Level 4 Certificate in Trichology.
Emma is a beautician who runs her own salon in Essex, called Emma Louise. The salon offers head spa treatments with scalp analysis, together with the full range of facial, nail and eye services. Emma trained at the London College of Beauty Therapy, worked in salons, then, when her children came along, worked from home before establishing today’s welcoming salon in the High Street Ongar. “Everything we do is tailored to our individual clients. We carry out an in-depth consultation, analyse exactly what’s best for the client and tailor each service to their needs,” she tells us.
Emma was drawn to trichology by her day-to-day experience with her clients. “The closer we look, the more hair and scalp problems we’re seeing, and it’s frustrating for both me and my clients when I can’t offer them a reliable solution. So I wanted to get an in-depth understanding of the causes and the possible treatments. I see trichology as a natural fit for my business.”
So Emma started to research trichology courses, and found TrichoCare. “Being able to study the course online was really attractive for me, as I juggle family and running a business. Plus I could spread the cost over time, which was good for my cash flow.”
So how has Emma found going back to being a learner many years on from her college days? “It’s been quite a challenge,” she says. “But then I love a challenge. I thrive under pressure. And even though it’s been hard work and time-consuming, learning and succeeding has been exhilarating for me.”
Were there any particular highs and lows for her on the course? “Lows? Well, I did find the chemistry the hardest part, but the TrichoCare support team were great – they helped me to push through to the end. And highs? The practical consultations with actual clients came totally naturally to me. That’s what I do and enjoy every day at the salon. I just find them a joy.”
So how will Emma put her new trichology consultation to use? “We’re adding trichology to our service offering – and I’m already seeing clients coming in for consultations. And I plan to keep on learning, building my trichology knowledge and expertise.”
And Emma’s recommendation to anyone thinking of studying the course with TrichoCare? “If you really want to extend your skills and are ambitious for your future, I would certainly recommend it. It does take hard work and commitment, but you’ll be grateful you did it in the long run, just like me.”
