Trichology Career Inspiration: Anamaria’s Journey from Cluj to TrichoCare
How a Bus Ride Sparked a Trichology Career
If you ask Anamaria Sucala how she first became interested in trichology, she’ll tell you a rather surprising story (in her very good English!). Her journey has become a Trichology training success story, inspiring others interested in this field. Anamaria lives in Cluj, one of Romania’s largest cities and once the capital of the historic province of Transylvania.
“It all started on a bus,” she recalls. “I was on my way to a lecture at the university where I was studying to be a teacher. Suddenly this girl gets on and I instantly see she has the most beautiful hair. It was glowing in the sunlight, and I was absolutely captivated. I couldn’t stop staring at this amazing sight. I even missed my stop!”
What was your inspiration?
The result? Anamaria started her first hairdressing course 2 months later, gave up her teaching studies and decided that hair would be her career from then on. Her ultimate goal was to transform this journey into a Trichology training success story. “And I’ve carried the image of that girl’s perfect hair in my mind ever since. It’s my inspiration.”

From Hairdressing Course to Trichology Qualification
Fast forward to today, 18 years on and Anamaria is the latest international student to successfully complete TrichoCare Education’s Level 4 Certificate in Trichology. “I’ve taken many courses in several countries in my career, and this marks the latest stage in my journey to keep learning,” she says—a true trichology training success story in the making.
Anamaria currently freelances in a salon with a loyal client base and is also an educator for a European hair care brand. “My lifelong passion is wanting to understand the ‘how and why’ things happen as they do. What really makes a healthy head of hair healthy? And what can you do when things wrong, and why? That’s what drives me to want to keep learning.”
So how did Anamaria come to choose TrichoCare’s Level 4 Certificate for her latest learning experience? “With two children, a husband who travels and a needy cat (!), I was looking for a course that I could study when I wanted, in my own time. And, of course, because I’m in Romania, it was important to me that I didn’t need to travel for any examinations or consultations,” she says. Her choice ultimately contributed to her Trichology training success story. She was also attracted by the fact that the Level 4 Certificate is officially accredited: “Trichology is still in its infancy in Romania, and I wanted a qualification that was internationally recognised so I could prove my credentials to practice here.”
And the cost of the Course? “It’s not cheap but it’s certainly less expensive than other courses I found. I was able to pay in instalments, which was very helpful. In the end, I believe in investing in myself, building my knowledge and developing my skills for the benefit of my clients, and for the professionals I’ll be teaching in the future.”
So how did Anamaria find studying the course? “It’s very detailed and very accessible. But what most impressed me was that it’s not just full of information, for example about the complex mechanisms underlying hair loss, but it develops your critical thinking. For instance, I’ll never take a brand’s health claims at face value again. I now know how to evaluate evidence properly, and that gives me a great sense of power.”
Obviously English is Anamaria’s second language. Did that impact her studies? “There were times when I struggled with some of the technical language, and the written exams could be stressful too. But I had great support from Keith, the Course Director. He was absolutely amazing in guiding me through any issues I had.”
So what’s next for her now she’s completed the course successfully? “I’m looking forward to applying my new skills in my practice and educating others as well, so that the many people in my country who really need help can get it.” She truly hopes her progress becomes a Trichology training success story for others to follow.
Advice for Future Trichologists
And her advice for anyone thinking about studying further and learning much more about the causes of hair and scalp conditions? “My advice is to think hard about what you want to achieve and why you want to do it. It’s quite a commitment of time and money. But if, like me, you’re fascinated by ‘perfect hair’ and you’re really interested in learning much more about how the hair and scalp really work, then it’s for you. You could even create your own Trichology training success story.”
