Prospectus

The Advanced Trichology (Level 5) Course is specially designed for qualified trichologists and other qualified professionals who are ambitious to advance their knowledge and skills in the field, build their capabilities and enhance their services to clients. The Course is designed to give learners a strong clinical foundation in the diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of hair and scalp disorders, and to build a successful and ethical diagnostic consultation practice.

The Course consists of 3 individual and comprehensive Modules and covers:

• How to identify scalp and hair conditions by using clinical signs and trichoscopy
• The anatomy and physiology of the scalp and hair in health and disease
• Product formulation science and critical research evaluation
• Clinical reasoning skills using the SMART model and patient consultations
• The systemic, genetic, and environmental contributors to hair loss
• Modern tools like the TrichoTest, HairCoSys, and AI-assisted diagnostics
• Ethical documentation, telemedicine and person-centred care models
• Business structures, processes and management decision-making
• Business operational strategy and how to increase efficiency and quality of provision.

Those studying the Course are encouraged to join the ART (Association of Registered Trichologists) if they’re not already members. The organisation provides opportunities to network with other like-minded professionals, join seminars and events, and attend practical workshops.

Who is the Course for?

The Level 5 Advanced Trichology Course is designed for:

• professionals who have completed a regulated Level 4 qualification in Trichology who are ambitious to advance their skills, knowledge and scope of practice.
• professionals in other, related fields such as cosmetology, hair care and dermatology with appropriate qualifications

How is the Course studied?

• Online using the leading educational, interactive platform Litmos
• The Course consists of 3 Modules, which are studied individually, in turn
• Each Module is completed by a series of assessments, including multiple choice questions, case study analysis and reflective journal tasks
• Individual Modules can be studied separately – perfect for CPD needs if you haven’t the time for the whole qualification or prefer to expand your knowledge in smaller bite-size pieces
• Prompt feedback and guidance
• Support from the Trichocare Education Team

How long will the Course take to complete?

• The Course should be completed in 9 months.
• We anticipate that learners will devote 4-6 hours per week to complete the Course

What if something unexpected happens that prevents me from studying?

If you become unable to continue studying for a time, for example because of illness, bereavement or other change in circumstances, you can request a break in learning for up to 3 months.

Will I meet other learners?

We’ll add you to the Learners’ WhatsApp group so you can share ideas, and ask questions, with other learners and the TrichoCare Education Team.
By joining the ART (Association of Registered Trichologists), you’ll be able to network with other like-minded professionals, join special ART seminars and events, and attend practical ART workshops.

What’s the cost of the Course?

• Each unit can be bought separately:

  • Unit 1: £900

  • Unit 2: £500

  • Unit 3: £500

  • Total if bought separately: £1,900

• Bundle option (all 3 units):

  • £1,800 as a single payment (and save £100)

  • Or 4 monthly payments of £475

Are there are any additional costs?

Learners exceeding the 9 months completion target may incur an additional £170 per month license extension fee.
