David Basketter first started training as a toxicologist when working for Unilever doing safety assessment for cosmetics and household products.
Twenty-eight years later, he became an independent consultant toxicologist, specialising in matters of skin and respiratory allergy and irritation – topics in which he has had a long involvement.
David’s work has led to many hundreds of articles in medical and toxicology journals, and he has chaired several international committees on aspects of consumer safety relating to cosmetic products. One particular interest has been allergy and hair dyes – lecturing on this topic and giving expert witness evidence.
